7 Months of Fun!

Two posts in one day is very ambitious for me but I realized as of lastnight that I never blogged about Lexie being 7 months old as of Sunday.  She is turning into such a lovley, fun little lady.  In the past several months George and I have noticed so many changes in Lexie.  While she still struggles to give into a sleeping schedule she definitely has her eating schedule down.  She is continuing to grow and is very long, we refer to her as "half-pint" because she still continues to suck down a 6 oz bottle very quickly, unless she is teething. She is really interested in the foods that George and I eat and I let her sample my food whenever possible just so she starts to get used to table food.  She doesn't have the taste for most of the food but she will whine until I let her try it.  She will now gnaw on apples and sometimes bananas.

Lexie loves her apples

She resists nap times because there is too much going on for her to nap, so instead of 3 naps a day, I can usually count on 2 solid naps.  One in the morning and the other in the late afternoon.  We like to call her our human alarm clock because she continues to get up at 5 or 5:30 every morning.  She is the happiest baby I know and will have the biggest smile on her face when either George or I go up to get her out of her crib.  When she is up she wants to play and explore all of the time.

Trying to change her diaper in the early morning or really at anytime has become a huge obstacle. The key is to have a toy to distract her. George would not change her diaper for the longest time because of it but he is getting better at it.  He laughs at me because when she wakes up around 3 or 4 am for a bottle, I change her diaper first and she tries to get away from me and he can hear the frustration in my voice when I tell her that she isn't going to get a bottle until she gets a diaper on.  Sometimes I want to just want to scream!

She has been crawling now for a couple of months and has easily perfected it to a sprint crawl, with this we call her "Crawling Bear".  It's so funny because she is now all over the house.  She still loves to go over to the sliding glass door in the dining room and look outside.  She will try to pull the curtains down and play in those if we are not watching her and she also loves the vents.  She would be content there for hours.  She also likes to crawl places that she is not suppose to be in...for example between or behind furniture, under her Jumperoo, under chairs, and up onto the treadmill.

The Jumperoo is still an adventure for her.  She loves to jump and her feet can now finally touch the ground comfortably.  When she gets in there, I will turn on some music and I will dance around while she jumps fanatically in her Jumperoo.  Her legs are getting stronger and she is really trying to stand up on her own.  I have a feeling that it won't be very long before she is walking.

Her personality is continuing to change also.  She love to play "Peek-a-Boo" and loves it when I sing to her.  She is even more interested in books and loves to crawl over to her basket and pull out books for me to read.

She is also discovering her voice and loves to make noise whenever possible.  It is so fun to make her giggle and laugh and when she has a smile on her face, George and I can't help but to feel lucky.  We find ourselves trying to imagine what life would be like without her in it and it is simply impossible.  She has continued to keep us on our toes and reminds us daily that she is the "Queen Bee" of the house.  We are so excited to see what other things she will discover in the months ahead.
